2013 Color of the Year is…Emerald!

The Pantone Color Institute annually scours the world for inspiration in order to bring us their official color of the year and the 2013 color of the year is bright, flattering emerald green.

Emerald green is a rich color that inspires insight and promotes balance and harmony, Lee Eiseman, Executive Director at Pantone, says this color is appropriate for 2013 because it promotes change, renewal, and clarity in a complex world, but we especially love the color because it compliments colors that create that “POP” in photos! Pantone’s decision will definitely influence trends in weddings, home decor, fashion and many other industries so let’s take a look and see how you can incorporate 2013’s color into the details of your wedding.

There are so many choices of dress styles available in emerald green that can complement each of your bridesmaids’ body type and tie in the color to your entire theme. Deep greens took off on fashion runways in the spring 2013 collections at labels including Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Marni and Roland Mouret.  One of our favorite dress designers, Jenny Yoo {} had green as her wedding colors and she designs fabulous bridal and bridesmaids dresses.  Check out her gallery to see how she added green to all the details of her wedding.  With this color, your bridal party will definitely look elegant in emerald.

Green is the most abundant hue in nature  and the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum.  You can incorporate 2013 color of the year by adding emerald green as an accent color to your floral.  Adding green button flowers or green hydrangeas will give that hint of emerald and bring out the other colors more prominently.
